...And Winter's Waiting
My eyes started aching after I'd spent all day putting together patterns for my dragons, so I took a break and moved on to something that caused no eyestrain at all.

Oh, I kid! It's eyestrain city all around!

Anyway, following up on my Brooklyn Bridge one, Newsies gets a turn at the snowflakes, and Jack and David manage to sneak their way in.

Closer to real size:

Folded scissors cut, as usual. There's a nod to the turn of the century with a Victorian-inspired scroll border along the outer edge.

Closeup of the boys. I hope they don't incite my other snowflakes to go on strike.

Flake is 8.75" across, the biggest of the lot so far.

Other snowflakes

Oh my, I can see David's ears. I've admired all your snowflakes and the attention to detail thus far, and yet it's David's ears that draw comment -- go figure.

Also: I hope they don't incite my other snowflakes to go on strike.

Heh, I'm glad you noticed. I chose that pose for that very reason!

Thanks! The first snowflake I did (for Supernatural) was sort of an out-of-nowhere brainstorm, but the rest of them have been carefully planned.

Thanks very much. I cut plain snowflakes every year but this year I finally hit upon the notion that if I could cut abstract shapes then I could cut specific ones as well!

Thanks very much. It seemed only right that Jack and David should get to share a snowflake.

I'm curious, did you have to look at the closeup to see it? I ask because I wonder how it looks to someone who's seeing it for the first time.

Well thank you! Silhouettes (of people) are very tricky to do, but if they work out they're totally worth it. I'm going to keep making more until I run out of ideas, so check back for others in the future.
